Galen Blood Bank
Galen Blood Bank is installed in all banks nationwide, achieving this uniform version in 2015.
It is aimed at personnel involved in the blood donation process, especially those responsible for recording and printing blood donor medical records, monitoring blood product production, the Blood Service (traceability), and bag stock.
It manages the distribution of blood and blood components in the Blood Bank. Stock control of these products is maintained by minimum and maximum values and expiration dates. For each request for blood and blood components, the necessary tests are generated to ensure the compatibility of the stored components with the patient's blood.
Detailed control is maintained over all plasmapheresis donors, as well as the bags obtained from and through this process, which are sent for serum production.
It monitors the entry into stock of bags sent by supplier units, returned bags, used bags, refrigerated bags, losses, tests performed, reagent stock, and consumables.
For full operation, it is synchronized with the Galen Laboratory module, as all generated tests require that system for processing.
It is developed for a 32-bit Windows platform (Windows NT and Windows 98 or higher) with a Client/Server configuration and the use of the SQL Server 2000 relational database manager as the data repository.
